people ask me a lot about drawing poc, more specifically “how” to do it. my kneejerk reaction is to get frustrated by it, because the answer is “just like you’d draw anything else.” it’s like the main excuse artists and writers use to not include poc in their art and in their worlds — they “don’t…

it makes me so sad to see that artists use the same excuse writers do

eclectic is not the word; esoteric was all they had left on the shelf.

am reading: so many comics, SO MANY (but especially Winter Soldier, li’l Gotham, and A+X which almost makes up for A vs X), The Hermetic Museum, Sisterhood of Spies, Earth Unaware, Trigun, Battle Angel Alita.  (and FMA.  again, because i have no willpower.)

watching: NCIS, GLTAS, Digimon, Kings, Hannibal, Elementary

have watched: TDKR animated because i really am that masochistic.  loved it nearly as much as i hated it, chewed my cuticles to pieces whilst viewing.

watched: Man o’ Steel.  possibly there will be commentary, when i gather my thoughts into one place long enough for it.

am writing: ten things that will probably never see the light of day, except for the one wherein Dick talks Bucky into the Nightwing suit and looking after Bludhaven for a week and Jason shows up in an identical suit because he is Like That.  i keep writing it because it is fun, there are blue finger stripes, and also it has Bucky and Sharon mouthing off at each other.  this is very hard for me to resist.

Man of Steel is the biggest non Batman superhero hit movie they’ve had in … I don’t know how many years. And the movie did really well in the demographics drawing in a demographic of 44% women. Compare that to Ironman 3 whose opening weekend had an audience that was 31% female audience.

Most…

i blame Frank Miller. (and all the editors and fanboys who’ve backed him up over the years, ugh.)
